These terms govern your use of casadeesmeraldas.com and any purchases made through us. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms.
About our business
Casa de Esmeraldas is a fine emerald house based in Dallas, Texas, with sourcing operations in Bogotá, Colombia. We sell loose emeralds and fine jewelry by direct inquiry: most pieces are presented on this site for introduction, and purchases are arranged personally after conversation. Our inventory spans the world’s principal emerald sources; Colombian emeralds are the specialty of the house.
Products and disclosure
- Natural emeralds commonly receive clarity enhancement (such as cedar oil or, rarely, resin). Any treatment or enhancement of a stone we offer is disclosed in writing as part of the sale.
- Photographs are representative. Emerald color varies with lighting; we describe each stone fully in writing before purchase.
- Carat weights, dimensions, and origin information are stated in good faith and confirmed in writing at the time of sale. Where a stone is accompanied by a laboratory report, the report takes precedence.
- Prices for stones marked "available on inquiry" are quoted individually and confirmed in writing. Quoted prices are valid for the period stated in the quote.
Orders and custom work
- Inquiry-based purchases: an inquiry (through our form, email, or in person) begins a conversation. No sale is final until we confirm it in writing and payment is received.
- Custom orders: after we agree on a design and price, we prepare a mock-up for your approval. Production begins upon receipt of a 50% deposit. The balance is due in full before shipping. Because custom pieces are made to your specification, the deposit is not refundable once production begins.
- Changes: design changes after mock-up approval may affect price and timeline; we will confirm any change in writing before proceeding.
Payment
We accept the payment methods stated at checkout or in your written order confirmation. Prices are in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Sales tax and any applicable import duties are the responsibility of the buyer.
Shipping and risk
Orders ship as described in our shipping policy. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to you or your designated recipient. Returns are handled under our refund and return policy.
Website use and intellectual property
Content on this site, including text, photographs, and design, belongs to Casa de Esmeraldas or its licensors and may not be copied, republished, or used commercially without written permission. You may not use our website to submit false information, interfere with its operation, or attempt to gain unauthorized access.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The website is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted availability and fitness for a particular purpose. Emeralds are sold as collector’s items and jewelry, not as investments, and past price performance does not guarantee future value. Our liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the item concerned.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
